Jack was elected to the first City Council and later he became the second Mayor in 1987. A couple years later, he and Carol Reed worked together and they started Park City’s own Chamber of Commerce.
After 30 years of working in the Civil Engineering field, the City hired Jack as an Economic Developer/ Planning Director. The following decade Jack had became the Public Works Director and Code Enforcement Director. In 2005, the City re-instated the position of City Administrator, which Jack served until he retired in 2019.
Jack was a busy man and served on many boards during the last 20 years; boards such as:
South Central Economic Development District for 4 years, City of Wichita Tourism Board (19 years), Sedgwick County Stormwater Advisory Board for 4 years in which he was also Chairman for 1 year, the Wichita Metropolitan Planning Organization Technical Advisory Board ( 3 years), and since 1984 to this present day he is on the Park City Tourism Board.
